REPOSITORIES is a monograph documenting the construction of portable sculptures made by New Mexico artist and Fulbright Scholar Basia Irland. Held within each Repository, made to carry on the artists’ back, are objects that reveal rich stories of rivers through the collection of water data, watershed maps, artworks, plants, and seeds. Irland has made several journeys across North America, which are illustrated through detailed maps designed by Graeme Walker (UK). The book is small enough and water-resistant, to carry with you to “the river.”
Foreword by Sandra Postel, Director of the Global Water Policy Project and 2021 Stockholm Water Prize Laureate. Preface and main text by Patricia Watts, founder of ecoartspace. Includes 80 color images and 11 unique site maps. Printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper. -Publisher
