“Originally realized in 1969, Mune Toon is a text-based score composed by the seminal duet Silver Apples to commemorate the moon landing during its public broadcast in Central Park. Never played again until December 2, 2008 (during a collaborative performance at the Kitchen with Simeon of the Silver Apples, Amir Mogharabi, Stefan Tcherepnin and Jeffrey Perkins) images of the handwritten score in its entirety are reproduced here for the first time, together with an introductory essay highlighting the mythology of the historic event by musician Alan Licht.
Each tightly designed copy is signed and numbered by Simeon Coxe, and includes original NASA documentation of the shuttle’s coordinates and velocity during descent, allowing the reader to figuratively follow its path while proceeding towards the end of the publication.” – from the publisher
