Face-to-Face: Blind Date is the result of a mediated art workshop which spanned four days in early November, 2015. During this workshop, 9 artists (Laura Blüer, Vuk Ćuk, Slavko Djuric, Effi Ibok, Dorijan Šiško, Neja Tomšič, Lesley Wamsley, Primož Zorko, and Leon Zuodar) were selected by Endless Editions and Independent Biennial (Slovenia) and were prompted to create two unique artworks each day with one artist working on the opposite continent. The actual workshop, and in some cases the artworks themselves were produced via communication platforms such as Skype, Facebook and Instagram. Artworks created in this workshop have been compiled and published in two unique artist books; the first being a silkscreen book printed in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the second being a risograph book printed in New York by Endless Editions. - Endless Editions
Face to Face Blind Date printed in New York is a colorful assortment of collages with a clear digital influence. Through Skype conversations, emails, texts, memes, loading images, and glitch art, the book encapsulates a culture of technology that, with the onset of globalization, has made possible greater communication and collaboration. This workshop takes advantage of these technological benefits, celebrating a new, cross-cultural way of producing art.
