Barbara Rosenthal is a conceptual artist, born 1948 in the Bronx, whose practice spans across multiple mediums: photography, video, installation, performance, and the production of multiples including book and sound works. Conceptually, she probes the relationship between an artist’s psyche and the outside world. Many of the titles on this table are translations of, or elaborations on, companion publications. Soul & Psyche, Sensations, and Homo Futurus _all exist in multiple forms – as bound books as well as print editions, photo suites, installation and projection iterations, audio cassettes, CDs, DVDs and performance environment. In this way, Rosenthal emphasizes the content and message of her artworks equally if not more than the physical forms they take.
