Window Installation with Josh MacPhee
October 9 - November 4, 2020
We are pleased to present a commissioned window installation by Josh MacPhee of the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative. Risograph posters by the artist are available in-store to take away.
Elections are just one tool (and an extraordinary blunt one) in our toolbox of political tactics. Yes, vote, but social engagement can’t begin or end there. Very little worth fighting for was won by an election alone. There are dozens and dozens of organizations in New York City doing work every day of every year to improve the lives of people in this city, whether it is getting us the food, healthcare, or housing we need; decarcerating the city; or holding police accountable and fighting their chokehold on our communities. What if they got the kind of coverage, attention, and funding that politicians (or artists, for that matter) get?
This image is a reworking of a graphic first created by the Atelier Populaire in Paris in May 1968.
