Join us for the launch of Citation Needed’s second edition of artists’ books created by 3rd-5th graders, hosted at Printed Matter / St Marks. Featuring a dynamic lineup of 15 new publications, the evening promises interactive drawing games, snacks, and an opportunity to meet the young authors. After many months of creation and production, the authors are thrilled to share their work with the public. This launch party serves as an opportunity for intergenerational conversation and to celebrate the authors’ detailed, hilarious, and chaotic new books!

Citation Needed is an experimental publishing initiative, dedicated to fostering the creation of artist books created by 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders from the 14th Street Y After School Program. Designed by Ari Wolff, Citation Needed provides an environment for young artists to experiment with visual poetry, xerography, typewriting, and book arts. Children engage in project-based learning, collaborative decision-making, and self-expression, culminating in a series of published books, available for purchase at Printed Matter / St Marks.
