Robbie Lawrence: Long Walk Home

Talk + signing at Printed Matter Chelsea
September 25, 2024
6-8PM

Join us at Printed Matter Chelsea for the launch of Robbie Lawrence’s highly anticipated book, Long Walk Home. Lawrence will speak briefly about the project, followed by a book signing.

Over the past five years, Lawrence has travelled throughout the United States and Scotland, photographing the Highland Games. Long Walk Home examines the cultural significance of the traditional community tournament and questions the very notion of what it is to be from a place.

Presented as a limited edition double-volume publication, including a hardback book of candid images of the Games, and a second Singer-sewn volume of portraits of the Games participants, alongside an extended text by award-winning poet John Burnside, which teases apart the threads of how Scots and the Scottish diaspora have remolded the form of the Games to suit their cultural needs.

Long Walk Home is available for preorder here.
