Join us at Printed Matter Chelsea for the New York launch of KIDZ 2024. KIDZ offers carte blanche to 50 young artists from around the world. Each edition, artists are given a double-page spread which they are free to use however they fancy. Since 2017, curators Raphaëlle Bellanger and Anna Gardère have worked together to embolden youth creativity in its multiple, ever-expanding forms. KIDZ was born through a network of interconnections, word of mouth, encounters, and experiments. The spirit of KIDZ is to encourage young artists to come together, support their work, and amplify the voices of those embodying the energy of today’s creative scene.

On occasion of the launch, KIDZ 2024 contributors Tasneem Sarkez, Gala Prudent, and Allen-Golden Mullin Carpenter will present readings and performances. Sarkez, a 22-year-old artist, will conduct a reading of her own writings, incorporating themes from Larissa Sensor’s ideas of dystopian imagination in her work. Prudent, a 25-year-old artist whose work explores black femme subjectivity as it manifests within objects, social architecture, history, and the natural world, will also present a reading. Mullin Carpenter, a 25-year-old artist, will share a performance reading of his own poems.
