Panayiotis Terzis will mount an installation of prints and sculptural elements in the Printed Matter window, January 14th-28th. The piece brings together imagery from internet ads with the artist’s own drawing and photography, enlarged and screen-printed in translucent colors onto clear acetate. Collapsing visual tropes of the past and present, the work aims to combine the frenetic energy of the 21st century with the gravity and timelessness of an ancient relic.

Please join us on Thursday January 17, 6-8PM, for the launch of “Spectrum Test”:catalog/32430, a new full color booklet of works by Panayiotis Terzis, published by Bronze Age Editions. In this new series of gouache paintings and drawings Terzis continues his mining of totems and relics of the ancient world, passing this material through a filter of color and geometry and allowing the forms to melt into almost total abstraction. A selection of works from this series will be on display at Printed Matter and available for purchase. Panayiotis has also produced an affordable print edition for the occasion.
