As a southern black person who spent the last 6+ years living on California and now lives in Philadelphia, I’ve found that there is a deep tendency among white folks in these places to scapegoat white people in the South, and portray deep seated racism as a regional problem that is worse in one place than another….
This is simply not true. In fact, outside of New York city’s burroughs, Los Angleles, and the Bay Area (all of which are also notoriously racist), the rest of these states are just as unsafe as anywhere else.
The delusion that the serious problem of white supremacy is “over there” is global, with whites outside the south pointing southward, and Western Europe and Canada pointing to the U.S.
IT IS BAD EVERYWHERE, and no matter where a white person lives, they benefit from it just the same. THIS is a commonplace zine about THAT. - diasporan savant press
